Box Let's first have a look at the box. The top of the box on the front features the new Ahsoka's Orange Clone Trooper LEGO Star Wars branding. It has a Disney logo at the bottom right and showcases the four minifigures included in the set at the bottom left. The back of the box showcases some of the features of the set. This includes Flick-Fire Red Missiles, driver cockpits that can be opened and adjustable cannons. Contents & The Build Inside the box, there are three numbered bags. Inside each numbered bag, there is another smaller bag of LEGO pieces. There is also an instructions booklet and a small sticker sheet. The first page of the instructions booklet shows you what each numbered bag builds. Above are the pieces for the first numbered bag. Some of the unique pieces in bag 1. Here are the two highly sought after minifigures in the set - Ahsoka Tano and Ahsoka's Clone Trooper. Ahsoka has two lightsabers. Ahsoka has an alternative face. The Clone Trooper also has a human face as well. This is the build after using bag 1 pieces. The stickers have been applied. There are also 2 spare pieces, one of which is a lightsaber handle which is a nice extra. Bag 2 pieces. Complete build after bag 2. Bag 3 pieces. In bag 3, you can build the last two minifigures which are the battle droids. The body as well as part of the head piece contains the green color. The blaster colors are also different than the one from the Clone Trooper. These blasters feature a metallic color. In this set, there are 10 extra pieces in total. Complete Built Set Here is the complete set with all the minifigures. This is the bottom cockpit and it can seat one battle droid minifigure. The top cockpit can also seat another battle droid minifigure. The cannons are all adjustable. Side view of the set. The back of the AAT. Comparison with 2009 Version Compared to the 2009 LEGO Star Wars 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) set, this one doesn't open at the back. There isn't a mini vehicle that you can detach the set from. It is also smaller. The 2009 version retailed for $49.99 USD / $64.99 CAD at 407 pieces. The 2020 version is cheaper at $39.99 USD / $49.99 CAD. LEGO has been remaking sets and most of the time, the sets are retailed at a higher price than the original version. An example would be the 2010 LEGO 8095 General Grievous' Starfighter at $49.99 USD / $69.99 CAD. LEGO released a new 2020 LEGO 75286 General Grievous's Starfighter version on August 24, 2020 at $79.99 USD / $119.99 CAD. With inflation and everything going up in prices, the 2020 LEGO 75283 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) is still a decent buy even though it is a bit on the smaller side. LEGO could have made this set the same size as the 2009 LEGO Star Wars 8018 Armored Assault Tank (AAT) version and charge $79.99 USD / $119.99 CAD (just like General Grievous's Starfighter). Set Ratings Design: 8/10 Build: 8/10 Minifigures: 9/10 Playability: 8/10 Parts: 8/10 Price: 8/10 Overall rating: 8.2/10 Overall Thoughts This set is great as a starter kit for the Clone Wars. The price is on the low side so you can probably buy several of these and create an army of Armored Assault Tanks (AAT). There are four minifigures in the set and Ahsoka Tano and Ahsoka's Clone Trooper are pretty cool to have. Overall, I would recommend this set.
